FACTORY MANAGER MANAGER

Our client is looking to recruit a Factory Manager. This is a multi-faceted role, requiring a high-energy professional with a background in Wood production and manufacturing.
Ensuring the factory operations run smoothly and the correct quality orders are completed in a timely manner by monitoring the performance of the factory staff whilst enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

Responsibilities:

Developing and implementing innovative strategies to streamline factory operations.
Scheduling building and equipment maintenance as needed. Ensuring that factory machinery is in good working order.
Plan preventative maintenance and reduce machinery down time.
Plan and oversee production according to customer orders and build buffer stock level.
Communicate production plan with supervisors and factory staff to ensure customer delivery times are met.
Analyzing production data to identify and resolve any production issues.
Optimize machine usage, productivity and reduce wastage.
Order required raw materials.
Preparing production reports and submitting them to key decision-makers.
Regularly inspecting finished products to determine whether they meet established quality standards.
Collaborating with quality control managers to establish and execute quality control processes.
Attend to HR related matters including hiring of personnel, motivating staff, staff training, planning of shutdown and disciplinary hearings.
Motivating factory workers to continually achieve factory targets.
Screening, recruiting and training new factory workers.
Adhere and enforce occupational, health and safety act. Section 16(2) assistant to the CEO appointment.
Attend production, management and other related meetings.
Attend to other factory management functions, including maintenance and security
Comply with and enforce FSC standards.

Skills required:

Degree or Diploma in related field.
Previous experience in a Timber/Wood Manufacturing environment
Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a factory.
Production and inventory management as well as quality control.
Sound knowledge of wood/industry-specific factory equipment.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.



MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Looking to employ a dynamic self-starter to join a team with strong maintenance, electrical and fault finding experience in the process operations and mining environment. To undertake activities associated with maintenance, breakdowns, machine operating as well as Health & Safety.

Responsibilities:

To maintain and service machines as well as attend to breakdowns and operating equipment when not undertaking maintenance tasks.
To ensure employees work to the highest health & safety standards and that equipment are safe to operate.
Work according to national safety standards.
Appointed as the Section 16(2) - Responsible for Plant Health & Safety as per the OSHA Act and report to the Managing Director.
Ensure equipment is in good working condition and maintained properly.
Workmanship must meet the mine’s minimum safety requirements.
Maintain and service equipment according to job specification.
After completing tasks run a test ensure that equipment is properly operating and producing material according to the specification.
Undertakes general labouring tasks.
Attend to breakdowns immediately and timeously.<.br> Report condition/status of equipment to the supervisor and/or manager.
General housekeeping of the spares store and working area.
Ensure minimum quantities of critical spares are in stock..
Do weekly quality checks to ensure that equipment is functioning as designed and maintained properly, i.e. sieve analysis, moisture test ect.
Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies.
